The voices are pretty good, I really like Aelita's voice. Odd (I think it's Odd) sounds almost the same only speaking Japanese :D

Since Code Lyoko is now in Japan....

They need to put Code Lyoko in an Anime Convention, more specifically, Anime Vegas :D

That'd be rad.

Wow, that's waay better than the English dub.

Hmm, I'm kind of disappointed of the way they spelled "Lyoko." They spelled it "Ryôko," which reflects the western pronunciation of the word, but the word Lyoko was itself derived from the Japanese word "Ryokô" (accent on the second "o" rather than the first), which means "to travel." Personally, I would've titled it コード: LYOKO.

That might be a little difficult, considering Season 1 already seems to have finished its run in Japan. I think reruns are airing, though.

I thought it was interesting that Yumi's name is written in katakana (ユミ), just like the other characters. Guess they wanted to preserve the foreign-ness of the show.

I don't think so, considering all the Naruto characters' names are written in Katakana. I actually think they do that so that little kids can understand what they're reading, because I doubt that the average 10-year-old has already memorized all his Chinese characters.

However, I think you're right about the foreignness thing, as shown by the way they spell "Lyoko."

A lot of the first names in Naruto are written in katakana because they aren't/not meant to be Japanese names--they're either words or somehow strange. However, they do try to make their last names easier for children to read--with hiragana, and normally not katakana.

Normal Japanese names are usually not written in katakana, which is why it's weird that Code Lyoko makes a big deal about Yumi being Japanese, yet the dub doesn't even give her a proper name.

I'm liking some of these Japanese episode titles better than the English ones, though. A lot of them are the same, but "Stop the Wild Train!" wins over "Big Bug" every time.

Hmm, I see your point, and I agree that it'd be much better if they write out Yumi's name in Chinese characters like they're supposed to.

I think the announcer's voice is a lot better, and they don't ruin the dramaticness of the trailer with the Code Lyoko theme song like they do in the U.S. version.

Yeah, it made her sound just like an anime character (or any other Japanese reporter)!

When are we gonna hear more? I wanna hear what Sissi's, Jim's, Suzanne's, and everyone else's voices sound like too! The dub is so amazing! It's like you're watching an anime!

Since I'm compiling a database of all things Asia-Lyoko, here's my shot at the Japanese episode titles and their translations. I also included the romaji if you wanna try your hand at pronouncing them and feeling Japanese... but I'm not Japanese, so forgive me if the translations are a little off(and send corrections my way!). If you decide to stick the chart on a site somewhere, you know what you should do.

Why is there no episode three? Because I can't find it, that's why. I have a Chinese S1 chart too but nobody cares about the Sinae.

I don't know about anime, but from what I've seen, exclamation points and expressions of surprise are pretty much the standard for Japanese television. They always sound so excited. :flower:

That's the idea! It's similar to the original version of Sailor Moon. They do this for every anime.

And I'm interested to see how well it's received there, as well. I sure hope someone can get someepisodes up soon!

XD Bad mental images. ;) Surely you've seen a particular series of CL fanart by Zeakari regarding that particular anime? *wink wink nudge*
