Oh, and this was brought up on the Colbert Report and I think it's worthy of being mentioned here. McCain is old, man. And I don't mean to make fun of him, I mean to say that he's seventy-seven years old and we don't know how much longer he'll be with us. If he wins the election and then dies, we'll be stuck with a wacky moose-huntin' dipstick for a president, and I'm sure nobody other than horny hillbillies would be happy about that. Besides, we don't want the president having some kind of 'Nam flashback and doing something crazy while he's got that much power.

It sounds like you think anyone whose seen war is automatically a basket case. I think I've already hammered the whole Gramma was a refugee and grampa was is concentration camp story to death...so yeah.

...whoah, buddy, sorry about that. There has been a misunderstanding. I didn't mean to imply that every [moose] hunter in the world is a wacky dipstick. It' just that Sarah Palin (in my opinion) is a wacky dipstick. And she hunts moose. Therefore, she is a wacky moose huntin' disptick. I wasn't meaning to attack parents, pastors, or anyone else. I'm not a fan of hunting, meself, but I'm not one of those people who raise a ruckus about it.

As for the flashback, no... but what if it happens? It's a possibility we must take into account. War vets with far less traumatic experiences than his have gone through flashbacks. I don't mean to say that he's a basket case... in fact, he seems like quite a capable sort of guy. (I'm just left-leaning and thus unlikely to actually vote for him when the moment of truth comes) But being President, I assume, is a stressful job, and I don't know if a 77-year-old with such traumatic memories really needs all the extra stress, especially when he's got the greatest political power in the world.

Going by statistics, there have been (about a couple thousand) more abortions in the U.S. in one year than deaths in Iraq over the course of the entire war.
So body-count-wise, yes.
Granted, ending the war in Iraq would be nice, but I can't see either McCain or Obama ending it sooner than the other. Obama's smart enough to know how delicately the situation must be handled. McCain was a soldier once, so hopefully he remembers that war isn't a fun thing.
Certainly neither candidate has "fight the war longer than we have to" on their platform.
I could care less about gay marriage. I personally consider homosexuality to be wrong, but I don't think it's the government's place to regulate it.
Right. And I'd rather keep healthcare AWAY from complete nationalization kthx. I DID live in Poland for a couple years...they have nationalized health care. Bleh.

Poland does not have a strong enough economy to handle such a system, or they (more likely) mishandled it. Western Europe seems to have a strong enough economy to handle it well. So does Canada. And so do we, if middle-class Americans would quit kissing the rich people's ***es and vote for social programs this country desperately needs.
If you're against universal health care, you need to watch Sicko. It will break your heart.

American's money isn't worth a crap anymore because Bush spent eight years cutting taxes while conducting a trillion-dollar war. That's why our economy's in the crapper, because confidence has eroded. We're in a huge amount of debt to the Chinese and the Saudis, and people know that debt can be called in at any time.
BTW, Michael Moore is brilliant, and if you disagree with him, you're wrong. End of story.
Um... under Clinton, the government made Fannie May/ Freddie Mac give out crap loans. It's his fault kthx. Also, we're in debt because of Middle Eastern oil. We need to work on alterate fuel tech, but right now...Drill Baby Drill.
BTW, his American Carol spoof makes more sense than him.
And as for Obama's Groundbreaking policies... extra taxes...DO NOT WANT.

Those home loans stimulated the economy by allowing the poor to afford a few luxury items instead of being forced to devote all their money to necessities. The war caused the dollar to plunge, which caused the cost of oil and gas to skyrocket, which put the screws on the poor and caused them to default on their mortgages because they couldn't afford to pay for gas. As for drilling... idiocy. We've hit peak oil. If we don't invest in alternate fuels YESTERDAY, western civilization will collapse.

David Zucker is an idiot who mischaracterized Michael Moore, a true American patriot and not the Castro-hugging moron Zucker depicts him as. Of course, what more should we expect from the guy responsible for the Scary Movie series?
And as for Obama's Groundbreaking policies... extra taxes...DO NOT WANT.
Extra taxes for the rich, not for the middle class. You've obviously been brainwashed by Rush "Fat***" Limbaugh and Sean InsHannity into thinking Obama's going to raise everybody's taxes.
Yeah, the thing about loans is...YOU HAVE TO PAY THEM BACK. I swear, what is your nationalized public education teaching you guys about economics? The sinking dollar rrate (BECAUSE OF OIL DEPENDENCY) just makes things worse. As for drilling being idiocy....lolwut?
Say, do you buy from a business? Do you or does someone in your family work at a business? Do you recieve paycheck size differences depending on said business? Then, Obama's taxes will affect you. Gee, those nicknames are SO CLEVER!!! Why, it's lik your argument just gained six tiers of viability by making fun of a dude you don't agree with's weight!

Drilling is idiocy because the United States does not have enough oil offshore to meet its energy/petroleum needs. We can get 3-5% of it from offshore oil, tops. Not nearly enough. Enough to buy us a year at most. And the people who got those loans were doing just fine to pay them back before the gas prices skyrocketed and people started getting laid off.
