Taelia, you do realize that if this was true someone would have found it ages ago. That and it would be all over the news if it was. If you can only find information from one source then odds are it is false. This is kinda like when people were saying he was a muslim then slamming him for going to church.

Email forwards aren't much to base your vote on. There's plenty of political reasons to oppose him.

There's no way Obama isn't an American citizen... somebody would surely have caught it by now, but I guess that issue's settled. So yeah, I'm voting for him. McCain seems to be a massive improvement upon Bush, and we know he's a brave and patriotic sort of guy, and I admit to being touched when he said all that stuff about being united by America instead of divided by political affiliations... but still, I disagree immensely with most of the Republican party's agenda. I am pro-gun and anti-affirmative action, but that's where it ends. This November, it's all go go left-wing for me.

THREAD REZ ACTIVATE!

I just saw part of Hayden Pneit-Panit-JONES' spoof-ad for Barack. I have to say that I'm disgusted. Making fun of Senator McCain for being old is like making fun of Senator Obama for being black and having big ears.

so yeah.

Has anyone noticed that McCain kind of sounds like Jack Nicholson?

Oh, and this was brought up on the Colbert Report and I think it's worthy of being mentioned here. McCain is old, man. And I don't mean to make fun of him, I mean to say that he's seventy-seven years old and we don't know how much longer he'll be with us. If he wins the election and then dies, we'll be stuck with a wacky moose-huntin' dipstick for a president, and I'm sure nobody other than horny hillbillies would be happy about that. Besides, we don't want the president having some kind of 'Nam flashback and doing something crazy while he's got that much power.

I is offended at the highlighted section. So now I, my friends, our parents pastors and gaming buddies are now perverted Clampetts? And what's wrong with moose hunting?!

Has McCain ever had a 'Nam flashback in office? just checking.

It sounds like you think anyone whose seen war is automatically a basket case. I think I've already hammered the whole Gramma was a refugee and grampa was is concentration camp story to death...so yeah.

...whoah, buddy, sorry about that. There has been a misunderstanding. I didn't mean to imply that every [moose] hunter in the world is a wacky dipstick. It' just that Sarah Palin (in my opinion) is a wacky dipstick. And she hunts moose. Therefore, she is a wacky moose huntin' disptick. I wasn't meaning to attack parents, pastors, or anyone else. I'm not a fan of hunting, meself, but I'm not one of those people who raise a ruckus about it.

As for the flashback, no... but what if it happens? It's a possibility we must take into account. War vets with far less traumatic experiences than his have gone through flashbacks. I don't mean to say that he's a basket case... in fact, he seems like quite a capable sort of guy. (I'm just left-leaning and thus unlikely to actually vote for him when the moment of truth comes) But being President, I assume, is a stressful job, and I don't know if a 77-year-old with such traumatic memories really needs all the extra stress, especially when he's got the greatest political power in the world.

Uh, McCain has been in office for a pretty long time, and not all war vets get flashbacks. I'd say this is a non-issue.

I'm surprised and disheartened to see so many young people supporting McCain, Palin, and the continuation of eight years of Bush neocon politics and the biggest embarrassment for this country since Japanese internment. What disgusts me even further is how so many people would vote against their interests because of wedge issues like gay marriage and abortion. Keeping the gays from getting married is more important than your family getting good health care? Keeping fetuses alive is more important then getting this country out of a horrible war in Iraq? Riiiiiiiiiiight.

By the way, and I know THIS will be controversial... Jeremiah Wright has a point, a point that, if you are not black, you can never, EVER understand. I'm not black, and I don't pretend to think I know what African-Americans still go through in this country, but I know it's worse than what I think it is. 400 years of systematic racism that is only now finally being stopped will make anyone angry.

Going by statistics, there have been (about a couple thousand) more abortions in the U.S. in one year than deaths in Iraq over the course of the entire war.
So body-count-wise, yes.

Granted, ending the war in Iraq would be nice, but I can't see either McCain or Obama ending it sooner than the other. Obama's smart enough to know how delicately the situation must be handled. McCain was a soldier once, so hopefully he remembers that war isn't a fun thing.
Certainly neither candidate has "fight the war longer than we have to" on their platform.

I could care less about gay marriage. I personally consider homosexuality to be wrong, but I don't think it's the government's place to regulate it.

Poland does not have a strong enough economy to handle such a system, or they (more likely) mishandled it. Western Europe seems to have a strong enough economy to handle it well. So does Canada. And so do we, if middle-class Americans would quit kissing the rich people's ***es and vote for social programs this country desperately needs.

If you're against universal health care, you need to watch Sicko. It will break your heart.

Um, have you checked the news lately? Our economy SUCKS. Our fundementals may be strong, but with CLINTON having created the housing crises...yeah.

Right. Watch a "documentary" from Michael Moore, the Bizarro-World Eagle Scout.

Clinton didn't cause the housing crisis. Inflation caused the housing crisis. American's money isn't worth a crap anymore because Bush spent eight years cutting taxes while conducting a trillion-dollar war. That's why our economy's in the crapper, because confidence has eroded. We're in a huge amount of debt to the Chinese and the Saudis, and people know that debt can be called in at any time.

BTW, Michael Moore is brilliant, and if you disagree with him, you're wrong. End of story.

I'm only in high school, and I am voting for Obama. His energy and financial policies are groundbreaking, and his face isn't horribly deformed.

Also, on a somewhat-related note, McCain has a giant forehead. <s>I wonder whether MoonScoop and Antefilms had a say in his genetic coding...</s>
I really gotta fix up this theme

Um... under Clinton, the government made Fannie May/ Freddie Mac give out crap loans. It's his fault kthx. Also, we're in debt because of Middle Eastern oil. We need to work on alterate fuel tech, but right now...Drill Baby Drill.

I can't see how inflation could cause the crisis- inflation makes it easier to pay back debts.

The problem was people buying houses as investments, and assuming they could pay it back by selling the house- basically the same thing as the whole buying-on-margin mess that led to the Great Crash of 1920-something.

I can't really see much difference of a difference in the energy policies; they both seem to say "offshore drilling, better cars are nice, tax breaks, blah blah".

When was the last time you could trust anything a politician said about taxes?

I'l probably end up voting for McCain, but I can't say I'm too thrilled about it.

Those home loans stimulated the economy by allowing the poor to afford a few luxury items instead of being forced to devote all their money to necessities. The war caused the dollar to plunge, which caused the cost of oil and gas to skyrocket, which put the screws on the poor and caused them to default on their mortgages because they couldn't afford to pay for gas. As for drilling... idiocy. We've hit peak oil. If we don't invest in alternate fuels YESTERDAY, western civilization will collapse.

BTW, his American Carol spoof makes more sense than him.

David Zucker is an idiot who mischaracterized Michael Moore, a true American patriot and not the Castro-hugging moron Zucker depicts him as. Of course, what more should we expect from the guy responsible for the Scary Movie series?

Extra taxes for the rich, not for the middle class. You've obviously been brainwashed by Rush "Fat***" Limbaugh and Sean InsHannity into thinking Obama's going to raise everybody's taxes.

Yeah, the thing about loans is...YOU HAVE TO PAY THEM BACK. I swear, what is your nationalized public education teaching you guys about economics? The sinking dollar rrate (BECAUSE OF OIL DEPENDENCY) just makes things worse. As for drilling being idiocy....lolwut?

Say, do you buy from a business? Do you or does someone in your family work at a business? Do you recieve paycheck size differences depending on said business? Then, Obama's taxes will affect you. Gee, those nicknames are SO CLEVER!!! Why, it's lik your argument just gained six tiers of viability by making fun of a dude you don't agree with's weight!

Drilling is idiocy because the United States does not have enough oil offshore to meet its energy/petroleum needs. We can get 3-5% of it from offshore oil, tops. Not nearly enough. Enough to buy us a year at most. And the people who got those loans were doing just fine to pay them back before the gas prices skyrocketed and people started getting laid off.

Obama's taxes will not damage small businesses, despite what right-wing smear merchants have been saying for the past few months. Even the increased taxes on big businesses will end up coming back to them, as the social programs will save the middle class and poor money that they can use to buy from those businesses, thus necessitating the hiring of more workers. The corporate taxes will be offset by an increase in profits. And yes, Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity are idiots. Borderline war criminals, actually, if you consider the fact that they're the impetus behind the continuation of our actions in Iraq.

Where are you getting this about drilling? And, we need to look into other ways to power our stuff. Clean coal, wind, solar, hydro, and, yes, ethanol. And, may I point out, that the markets are lowering the price of gas?

And still, these loans were handed out during gas prices rising. Banks shouldn't of been FORCED to hand this crap out. AND, may I say, that high risk loans are stupid, no matter what economic climate.

You buy from just small businesses? And, may I say, you keep forgetting that Sadaam was bribing his way outta ELEVEN FLIPPING sanctions, bullying around his own people, and DID (I must repeat this) DID have ties to the Taliban.

I must say, insulting somebody's appearance or name is just immature, stupid, and generally prepubescent.
