Dear Ulrich Stern ( It's weird for me to be writing to that name!) Where's Best Buy? Is there one in New Jersey, or Morgantown West Virginia, or any where near Boston Mass? I know people in those places that could go get one for me. As I live in Paris, they don't have them here! ;)

The CL Panini sticker album has come to life... at France.

Now if the italians made this, CL's gotta be a very good show...

^^; I have recently ordered and recieved the following two Code Lyoko books from Amazon.fr:

Clap de Fin (End of Take)
Gravite Zero (Zero Gravity Zone)

I have to say that these are definitely some of the cutest little books I've ever read. They're adolescent level reads, and they're in the style of novelizations, in which they tell the episode in a story book style. The POV is third person, but often follows the thoughts of which ever character has the best to offer for the scene (for these episodes in particular, Jeremie and Ulrich, although it switches to the others at times as well).

What makes them so adorable is that the author has taken it upon themselves to make sure that the kids still think like kids do. For example, in the beginning of "Clap De Fin", the author follows Jeremie's perspective as he watches the movie, which is of absolutely no interest to him. Entirely bored, he begins day-dreaming...and three guesses about who. XD Absolutely adorable. Another favorite moment of mine, also in "Clap de Fin", is where the author traces Ulrich's thoughts as he drags Sissi's suitcase to the Factory while she talks on in front of him about how much she envies the fact that Ulrich will be able to see her become a star. Ulrich, understandably, wishes he had heat vision. :*D

Personally, I thought this was the best aspect of them because Code Lyoko has always been best noted for its ability to keep its characters very human and believable. I was very pleased to see that effort was taken to have the novelizations of the episodes hold the same values. ^_^ I recommend these highly to any Code Lyoko fan, even if the text is French. :D

That's another great thing about the CGI animation - statuettes of the Lyoko characters can look hyper-realistic without compromising the 'feel' of the characters - a statue of Jeremie would be a lot harder to make forexample.

An Ulrich action figure? Aww yeah! :D I'd so buy one too, 'cause Ulrich's one sexy guy in his virtual form.

Aw d**m, writing the novelisations was going to be MY job! (sulks, then brightens up).

However they do sound like cool little books, and I can't wait to see if there are going to be any English translations - do they give any extra details on the kids, the factory, Lyoko, the technology etc. that aren't in the episodes Mew?

They do actually...although if you're looking for confirmations about things talked about on LTT, I can tell you now the author doesn't go into it that deeply. ^^; These books were meant to be read by 7 year olds, so the text and descriptions are much more simple and whimsical. The "time freezes" that occur when the tower is deactivated tend are described often with sentences that begin with "Like magic..." ^.^

But some interesting facts are mentioned about the kids that aren't really talked about in the show. Pentchak-Silat is given a complete explanation, marking it as a style of martial arts that originated in Idonesia and Malaysia. Ulrich and Jeremie are revealed to be the only children of their respective parents (thus rendering all those Ulrich and Jeremie sibling OCs inaccurate ^^; ). Ulrich's parents are also revealed to be very well-to-do, though arguably such a status has not rubbed off on Ulrich's personality as it has for say, Sissi (who's also mentioned as being well-to-do).

By far, one of the more interesting facts revealed in the book is that Odd's parents are revealed to be artists (which explains why he loves art as well), and that they encouraged him to be true to himself, stay optimistic, and enjoy life. :)

Not sure whether that's good or bad...good in that it doesn't disprove anything, bad in that it would have given us something to sink our teeth into over in LTT. Meh! ;)

Damn - I was trying to push the idea that Odd's Dad was an army general (even Matt Geczy liked this idea) involved in the Carthage Project (and in charge of the agents that came after Hopper) - maybe this is why Moonscoop havn't been returning my e-mails (sulks again).

Ah don't mind me - I'll go work out my rage by driving my car over small animals. ;)

Thanks for all this Mew - you bilingual wonder. :)

Oh, don't do that. ;__; That's terribly cruel...and plus, do you want their brethren to come after you for revenge? (...I was watching Princess Mononoke last night...) ;)

You're welcome all the same though. :) I'm truly not bilingual though, (and certainly no "wonder", but I truly appreciate the compliment  ). I just took a few years of French language courses...I'm remedial at best, really. ^^; But, thank you, though. ^.^
