They're getting better, though. They got Scyphozoa right in "Contact", and even got all the opening lyrics right in "Revelation" today. (Though I suspect there'll be a backslide on that regard, because either the episodes were captioned out of order or there's two captioners working on it.) But generally the errors are getting fewer and further between.

That being said, I'll relate the funniest error of recent days. (Disclaimer: my captioning is sometimes a bit glitchy. But it rarely does anything more complex than drop a letter or add a few random symbols. It doesn't make typos this neat.)

"Franz Hopper", that classic scene for Yumi & Ulrich shippers where Yumi, distraught that scanner use has been causing cellular degeneration, says "I need to be by myself. You coming, Ulrich?" Her voice breaks a bit when she says Ulrich's name, and the "ch" sound is slightly harder to hear than normal. No big deal, right? Well, the captioner seems to think their relationship is a bit warmer than it is, because he/she mistook it for a pet name. The end result: "I need to be by myself. You coming, Ulry?"

"Ulry?" I think that's kind of cute, actually.:)

There was another error with the captioning in "Franz Hopper" I dont recall the entire sean, or what was being said, but I think they captioned "funney" instead of "finaly"

did they get the "Code Lyoko, We'll RESET it all" line right, and didn't put Withstand

In their defense, though, I couldn't hear the "ae" sound either.

Not this time. My gut feeling is telling me there's at least two captioners, because roughly every other episode has the same wrong lyric. (Something like "We will stand alone" followed by a question mark because the captioner isn't sure about it.) Meanwhile, the lyrics for the other half of the episodes have been progressing fairly well, from badly mangled to somewhat wrong to wrong-but-close before finally getting it right.

And tomorrow we'll see if season 1 is captioned too. I wonder what order these were done in - if they were done roughly in episode order, I shudder at how bad tomorrow's opening lyrics will be.

They just got the "We reset it all" correct. But during some of the captions never came on when they talked.

I don't know if it's different for every TV, but with mine I press Menu on my remote and turn the caption option on.

So it wasn't only me? I thought my machine was on the fritz. Entire lines were regularly missing. Though I noticed that Codename: Kids Next Door was missing lines, too, for the few minutes I was on it.

It's different on every TV (and assumes your TV is of fairly recent design, within the past few years - older ones don't have it). Mine has a helpful "Caption" button on the remote. some have it on the setup/menu screen. A few bury it a menu or two deeper, some have it under a cryptic thing like "Onscreen text." Your instruction manual would probably tell you where, if you still have it. Check the index for "closed captioning".
